One of my favorite places in Barcelona was the Cathedral in the
Gothic quarter. The city has many cathedrals wonderful in variety,
but this place kept drawing me back to it. The courtyard opened
to the sky with fountains and palms. Thirteen geese lived there in
honor of a thirteen year old girl who had been martyred.
One evening as I walked by the side door, I found it open.
It was all lit up and the geese were leaving the pool. I was able to
get some great photos and the inspiration for this painting.
